What Is the 40-Day Hanuman Chalisa Path?
THE REASONING
Why 40 Days, Specifically?
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Daily Routine & Preparation
- 1. Wake during Brahma Muhurat — chant 4-6 am or at sunset, and hold the same time daily.
- 2. Bathe and wear clean clothes before you begin.
- 3. Create a sacred corner with Hanuman ji's photo or idol, a diya, incense, and red cloth.
- 4. Light the diya with mustard oil before you start chanting.
- 5. Sit facing East or North — considered most favourable for spiritual energy.
- 6. Chant slowly, with full focus — don't rush, feel the meaning in every line.
NON-NEGOTIABLES
Rules to Follow for 40 Days
✓ Do this daily
- Chant at the same time, every day
- Eat simple, vegetarian, sattvik food
- Offer boondi, jaggery, or red flowers after chanting
- Keep your space and body clean
- Speak less, and speak kindly
✗ Avoid completely
- Skipping even one day — it means starting over from Day 1
- Onion, garlic, alcohol, tobacco, outside food
- Anger, lying, gossip, negative thinking
- Touching the book or photo with unclean hands
- Breaking brahmacharya (celibacy) during the sankalp

Mistakes That Break the Sankalp
- Skipping a day — breaks the spiritual flow entirely
- Chanting in a hurry, without feeling the words
- Being careless or half-hearted about timing and cleanliness
- Breaking celibacy or eating restricted foods
- Letting anger or negativity take over your day
FROM REAL DEVOTEES
Questions Devotees Keep Asking
Yes. Hanuman ji blesses devotion, not the clock. Any of the four periods works — what matters is picking one time and staying consistent with it for all 40 days.
Traditional maryada advises not touching the diya, idol, or physical book during this time — but there’s no restriction on chanting mentally or listening with devotion. Bhakti goes beyond the body, so your sankalp stays intact through mental japa and resuming physical worship afterwards.
Yes. If a higher count like 21 is difficult in one sitting, splitting it across the day is fine. What matters is faith, discipline, and consistency — not doing it in a single stretch.
You can start on any day with sincere devotion, though Tuesday and Saturday are considered especially auspicious since both are dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
If it’s an unavoidable part of your work and not a personal choice, it isn’t treated as knowingly breaking the rule. Keep your daily paath sincere, live as sattvik a life as circumstances allow, and pray to Hanuman ji about your situation — devotion is judged by intent, not unavoidable circumstance.
Yes — normal conversations and calls don’t violate the sankalp. The purpose is cultivating devotion, discipline, and positive thought, while maintaining respect and purity in your actions.
Offer your gratitude and any specific wish humbly at Hanuman ji’s feet. Many devotees mark the udyapan (completion) with a Chola Arpan or a Sunderkand Path — both considered highly auspicious ways to close the sankalp.
Absolutely — there’s no restriction on continuing. In fact, making the Hanuman Chalisa part of your permanent daily routine is considered highly auspicious.

Can you please tell me can i recite at anytime like in afternoon or specific timing? Someone said me dont recite in afternoon because shri hanuman ji also pray shri ram ji he get angry please tell
adminAuthor
YES. You can recite:
Morning
Afternoon
Evening
Night
Hanuman ji is Bajrangi, karuna-sagar (ocean of compassion). He blesses bhav (devotion), not the clock.

If I start 40days do I need to stop during menstrual days? Please advice…
Thank you
adminAuthor
During menstruation, it is advised not to touch the diya, idol, or the physical Hanuman Chalisa, as per traditional maryāda.
However, there is absolutely no restriction on reciting (verbally or mentally) or listening to Hanuman Chalisa during this period.
No one is restricted from nāma-smaraṇ, stuti, or bhakti at any time.
Shāstra clearly teaches that bhakti and shraddhā are beyond the body. Menstruation is a natural process and does not obstruct devotion.
So, the 40-day sankalp remains intact through:
Mental chanting (manasik pāth)
Listening with devotion
Resuming physical worship after the cycle
🌺 Bhav is primary, form is secondary.

From now onwards I’ll start hanuman chalisa but same question in my mind that , can I Read chalisha in evening time on my sitting table or worship place, pls suggest….
adminAuthor
Namaste Sanjna Ji,
Yes, you can recite Hanuman Chalisa in the evening. While a dedicated worship place is ideal, you may also recite it at your study table, work desk, or any clean and peaceful place where you can focus without disturbance.
The most important factors are devotion, concentration, and regularity in your practice.
May Lord Hanuman bless you with courage, wisdom, and protection. Jai Bajrang Bali.

Can I also do it for 11 days instead of chanting 21 times of Hanuman Chalisa at a time? Am I allowed to chant by splitting 11 and 10 times in the morning and evening in a day?
adminAuthor
Namaste,
Yes, if chanting Hanuman Chalisa 21 times at a stretch is difficult, you may divide the count into different sessions during the day, such as 11 times in the morning and 10 times in the evening.
Similarly, if you are taking a personal Sankalp of 11 days with sincerity and devotion, you may certainly do so. The spiritual benefit comes from faith, discipline, and consistency rather than only the duration or count.
May Lord Hanuman bless you with strength and success

Can I talk to my partner ?
Like on the call.
We are in long distance relationship
adminAuthor
Namaste,
Yes, you can speak with your partner during the 40-day Hanuman Chalisa Sankalp. Normal communication, phone calls, and maintaining healthy relationships do not violate the Sankalp.
The main purpose of the Sankalp is to cultivate devotion, discipline, positive thoughts, and spiritual growth. Continue your prayers sincerely while maintaining respect and purity in your thoughts and actions.

When we have to start this 40 days prayer
adminAuthor
Namaste Gayathri Ji,
You can start the 40-day Hanuman Chalisa prayer on any day with sincere devotion. However, many devotees prefer to begin on a Tuesday or Saturday, as these days are especially associated with Lord Hanuman.
Once you take the Sankalp, try to continue the prayer daily for the full 40 days without interruption.
Jai Hanuman

Namaste Shashi Ji,
Aapki bhakti aur niyamit sadhana prashansaniya hai. Yadi duty ke dauran paristhitiyon ke karan aap jute nahi utaar sakte, to isse aapki bhakti kam nahi hoti.
Bhagwan Hanuman bhakt ki shraddha aur samarpan ko dekhte hain. Aap rozana Hanuman Chalisa, Hanuman Ashtak, Bajrang Baan aur Aarti kar rahe hain, yeh bahut punya ka karya hai.
Yatha sambhav mann ko ekagr rakhein aur bhakti ko nirantar banaye rakhein. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Hanuman.

What is the thought on increasing count everyday through the 40 day period
adminAuthor
Namaste,
Yes, you may gradually increase the number of Hanuman Chalisa recitations during your 40-day Sankalp if it is comfortable and sustainable for you. Many devotees start with 1 paath daily and increase the count as their devotion and discipline grow.
However, consistency is more important than quantity. It is better to recite a manageable number regularly for all 40 days than to take on a count that becomes difficult to maintain.
Jai Bajrang Bali.

When we can start I mean which day
adminAuthor
Namaste,
Jai Shri Ram. Jai Hanuman

I work in a place where I have to touch meat alcohol and cigarettes, during this sankalp we are not supposed to touch meat, where I cannot avoid touching meat at my work. Now in this case is it like breaking sankalp if I do so???
adminAuthor
Namaste Priyanka Ji,
Aapka prashn bahut vyavaharik hai.
Yadi aapke kaam ki prakriti ke karan aapko meat, alcohol ya cigarette products ko handle karna padta hai aur aapke paas isse bachne ka koi vikalp nahi hai, to ise jaanbujhkar niyam bhang karna nahi mana jata.
Hanuman Chalisa Sankalp ka mool uddeshya man, vachan aur karm ki shuddhata, bhakti aur anushasan hai.
Aap apna kaam imaandari se karte hue:
Roz Hanuman Chalisa ka paath karein.
Sambhav ho to saatvik jeevan shaili apnayein.
Bhagwan Hanuman se apni paristhiti ke baare mein prarthana karein.
Bhagwan bhavana ko dekhte hain, majboori ko nahi. Jai Bajrang Bali.

Namaste,
Sabse pehle himmat mat haariye. Har asafalta humein kuch naya sikhati hai.
Hanuman Chalisa ka paath shuru karne ke liye kisi vishesh anubhav ki zarurat nahi hoti. Aap beginner hote hue bhi iska paath kar sakte hain.
✅ Subah Brahma Muhurat ya suryoday ke baad ka samay uttam mana jata hai.
✅ Shaam ko bhi paath kar sakte hain.
✅ Agar paath karna mushkil ho to Hanuman Chalisa ko dhyan se sunna bhi laabhdayak mana jata hai.
Haan, swayam paath karna adhik uttam mana jata hai, lekin shraddha ke saath sunna bhi punya pradan karta hai.
Bhagwan Hanuman aapko safalta aur atmavishwas pradan karein.

Can you still eat vegetarian food if it has onion and garlic ? What about non veg? I only eat it 2-3 times a week.
adminAuthor
Namaste Kamal Ji,
Traditional 40-day Hanuman Chalisa Sankalp ke dauran saatvik bhojan ka palan karne ki salah di jaati hai. Ismein aam taur par onion, garlic aur non-vegetarian food se parhez kiya jata hai.
Lekin agar kisi vyakti ke liye poori tarah se in cheezon se bachna sambhav na ho, to bhi ve Hanuman Chalisa ka paath shraddha aur niyamitata ke saath kar sakte hain. Bhagwan Hanuman bhakt ki bhavana aur samarpan ko sabse adhik mahatva dete hain.
Jai Bajrang Bali.

✅ Saatvik bhojan grahan karein.
✅ Nasha, maansahaar aur jhooth se bachne ka prayas karein.
✅ Brahmacharya aur man ki shuddhata banaye rakhein.
✅ Sankalp poore 40 din tak bina break ke karein.

Do I have to do 21 times for court case and career growth or I can do it any number of times in a day . I had been struggling in court case since 11 years now without any solution which tortured my family a lot.. I did everything and now I don’t have any solution.

Jai Shri Ram 🙏 We are sorry to hear about the challenges you’ve been facing for so many years. May Lord Hanuman bless you with strength and guide you towards a positive resolution.
You don’t have to recite the Hanuman Chalisa exactly 21 times in a day. What matters most is shraddha (faith), niyam (consistency), and sincerity. If you’ve taken a 40-day sankalp, continue it with devotion.
Since every person’s situation is different—especially in long-pending court cases—the appropriate spiritual remedies depend on the Kundali. If you’d like personalized guidance, you can connect with our spiritual experts here: https://jipanditji.com/contact-us/ and share your birth details or Kundali. We’ll be happy to guide you.

Can i sleep day time
After hanuman pooja?
Pooja DadhichAuthor
Yes, you may take some rest if you’re feeling sleepy or unwell. There is no issue with that. 😊
If you plan to recite the Hanuman Chalisa again in the evening, simply freshen up first (wash your hands and face or take a bath if possible) and then continue your prayers with devotion.
May Lord Hanuman bless you always. 🚩

40 din khatam honeka baad wish ki poorti kaise mange aur kya prakriya hoti hain

Namaste! Jai Shri Ram!
40 din ka Hanuman Chalisa Anushthan poora hone ke baad Hanuman Ji ke charnon mein apni mannokamna vinamrata se prarthana ke roop mein samarpit karein aur unka hriday se aabhar vyakt karein. Yadi sankalp kisi vishesh ichchha ki poorti ke liye liya gaya tha, to anushthan ke samapan par Hanuman Ji ka Chola Arpan karna aur Sunderkand Path karwana bahut hi shubh mana jata hai. Isse anushthan ka udyapan bhi sampann hota hai aur Hanuman Ji ki vishesh kripa prapt hoti hai.
Yadi aap mandir mein ya apne ghar par Hanuman Ji ka Chola Arpan ya Sunderkand Path vidhi-vidhan se karwana chahte hain, to hamare Vedic Pandit ismein aapki sahayata kar sakte hain.

Namaste! Jai Shri Ram!
Yes, you can chant the Hanuman Chalisa in your bedroom, provided the place is clean, peaceful, and you maintain devotion and respect during the recitation. If possible, choose a fixed spot and face East or North while chanting, but sincere faith is more important than the location.
After completing the 40-day Hanuman Chalisa Anushthan, you may certainly continue reciting the Hanuman Chalisa daily. There is no restriction on continuing after 40 days. In fact, making it a part of your daily spiritual routine is considered highly auspicious and helps maintain Hanuman Ji’s blessings in your life.
Many devotees also choose to conclude their 40-day Anushthan by offering Hanuman Ji ka Chola or organizing a Sunderkand Path as a mark of gratitude and devotion. If you wish to perform either of these with experienced Vedic Pandits, we’re happy to assist:

Sankalp me havan karna jaruri hai
JiPanditJi Knowledge DeskAuthor
🙏 Ji, havan karna anivarya nahi hai. Hanuman Chalisa ka 40 din ka sankalp bina havan ke bhi poori shraddha aur niyam se kiya ja sakta hai.
Agar aap udyapan (samapan) ke samay havan kar sakte hain to bahut shubh mana jata hai, lekin kisi karan se havan sambhav na ho to Hanuman ji ki puja, Ram Naam ka jap, Hanuman Chalisa ka paath aur prasad vitran bhi poorn phaldayi mana gaya hai.
Agar aap havan sahit sampoorn vidhi se udyapan karna chahte hain, to hamare Vedic pandit bhi isme aapki sahayata kar sakte hain. 🙏

If pronunciation mistake occurs in between?
JiPanditJi Knowledge DeskAuthor
If a pronunciation mistake happens accidentally, there is no need to worry. 🙏 The key is to chant with sincere devotion and follow the correct pronunciation as much as possible. If you realise a mistake, simply correct yourself and continue with faith and concentration. Hanuman Ji looks at bhakti and sincerity, not perfection.

Jai Shri Ram 🙏
Pravin Ji, Hanuman Chalisa ka paath niyamit roop se karna sabse mahatvapurn hai. Har din bilkul same time par paath karna sambhav na ho, to chinta na karein. 🙏
Koshish karein ki ek lagbhag nishchit samay bana rahe aur paath shraddha, shuddh bhav aur ekagrata ke saath karein. Kisi din timing mein thoda antar ho jaye, to aap apna 40-day sankalp continue kar sakte hain.
Agar aap chahein, to JiPanditJi aapko WhatsApp par daily reminder bhi bhej sakta hai, taaki aapko Hanuman Chalisa ke paath ka samay yaad rahe. 🙏📿
Bhakti mein bhav aur niyamitata ka vishesh mahatva hai.
