In Hindu tradition, Shani Amavasya—also called Shanishchari Amavasya—is considered one of the most significant days to worship Lord Shani Dev. Devotees believe that performing rituals and remedies on this day reduces hardships, removes planetary afflictions, and brings divine blessings.
In 2025, Bhadrapada Amavasya falls on August 23 (Saturday). Since Amavasya coincides with Saturday, it becomes Shani Amavasya, a rare and highly auspicious occasion. According to astrology, individuals under the influence of Sade Sati (7.5 years of Saturn) or Dhaiya (2.5 years of Saturn) should follow remedies as per their zodiac signs to appease Lord Shani. Doing so ensures protection from obstacles, success in endeavors, and overall peace of mind.
This blog covers the importance of Shani Amavasya and zodiac-specific remedies to guide devotees in receiving Shani Dev’s divine grace.
Significance of Shani Amavasya
Shani Dev, known as the God of Justice, rewards individuals based on their karma. He is believed to test one’s patience, discipline, and morality. The period of Sade Sati and Dhaiya often brings delays, struggles, and challenges in career, health, and relationships. However, when Shani is pleased through rituals, charity, and prayers, he bestows wealth, stability, and success.
Astrologers emphasize that Shani Amavasya is the best day to reduce the malefic effects of Saturn. By offering prayers, chanting mantras, and performing donations (daan), devotees can overcome difficulties and attract positive energy.
